About Dr. Mick
Fitness has been a lifelong endeavor for me. My interest in fitness began early in life kicking the soccer ball in the schoolyard for fun then taking it to the professional playing fields. I developed my skills as an athlete in high school and college, ultimately going on to earn advanced degrees in applied physiology and nutrition at Adelphi (MS) and Columbia (PhD) Universities. For 30 years, I was an airborne officer and consultant to the Israeli Air Force providing fitness training to pilots.
I too have had a romance with food that started a long time ago that could have resulted in my weighing over 300 pounds by now. My life was surrounded by one profound major activity - EATING!
I emphasize prevention by integrating an active lifestyle with healthy eating habits. For over 22 years in private practice, specialized health programs have been designed for over 10,000 patients, addressing all issues for the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.
In 1996, I shared the secrets to a healthy lifestyle in my book, The Anti-Diet: How to Eat, Lose, and Live teaching health and well-being and the ability to metabolize food, strengthen the immune system, and increase energy levels. But I didn't stop there - and regularly lecture to parents and students and educators in local schools.
